After the death of the eponymous founder Gianni Versace in 1997, his sister Donatella Versace, formally vice-president took over as creative director with older brother Santo Versace becoming CEO. Allegra Versace, Donatella's daughter, was left a 50% stake in the company, which she assumed control of on her 18th birthday. Since then, the brand has remained exquisite.
